Many photographers worry they’ll come across as pushy or inauthentic — especially when they’re trying to encourage clients to invest beyond the digital files. But here’s the truth: Selling doesn’t have to feel “salesy.” In fact, it shouldn’t. Authentic sales are about connection, not persuasion. About guiding, not guilting. Here’s what that might look in practice: Not: “You need this album or you’ll regret it.” Instead: “Most of my couples say they’re so glad to have something tangible from the day. To View More >>

Previous |  Contents | Next Download the eBook There are so many reasons why the printed image matters, but long term accessibility to your most treasured photos is surely a deal breaker. Why printed images matter Back in the ’90s I remember walking back to our trade show booth behind two people from a neighbouring stand. They were into IT. As they approached our booth I heard one say to the other, “I feel sorry for these guys. How long can they last in the modern world?” It’s so long ago I feel like they must have been visionaries — how did they know To View More >>

Queensberry only sell to approved professional photographers and album designers. However we do get lots of enquiries from people wanting their own album, often to celebrate a wedding, reunion, new babe, family photo shoot or travel adventure. We'd like to help you if we can, so here are two ways to order a Queensberry album if you're not a professional photographer.  Talk to your photographer If the photos you want to use were taken by a professional photographer we can only use them if your photographer places the order on your behalf or with the photographer's written permission. What is "aspect ratio", and why can it be a problem? The aspect ratio of an image is the ratio of its width to its height. Unless the aspect ratio of a print or frame matches that of the camera image from which it is made, the original image will need to be cropped. What to do When shooting, bear in mind the finished print that you want to sell. If you frame the subject tightly (with important content out to the edges of the image) you won't be able to crop — you'll need to order prints with the same aspect ratio as the camera. David with his Queensberry book We get to see many beautiful stories at Queensberry, and sometimes we need to share them. David Edmonson and his son Luke, both multi-award winning wedding, portrait and commercial photographers, are based in Dallas Texas. After a major health challenge David decided to take on a personal project, which this lovely book documents. I’ve don’t usually take books and albums home with me, but I just had to spend some time with this one, absorbing the images, reading the compelling words he uses to describe them, and the messages he wants his children To View More >>

We spoke to Dan Morris Photography, based in the UK, about his wedding photography practice, some memorable moments over his career, and why he offers albums to every client. I have been photographing weddings for around six years, though this is my second year full time. I started off as 'Uncle Bob' and took my camera along to a friend's wedding, with no intention of ever becoming a wedding photographer. I posted a few images on Facebook and then two couples asked if I'd be interested in capturing their special day.  How would you describe your style? I would say my style To View More >>

Matted prints are proving to be a great sales tools within the professional photographer community, and since Sue Bryce introduced her 'reveal wall' sales technique, photographers have been jumping on this for their own studios. Our Studio Boxes and Slip-in mats are designed so you can stock up with products, and order your Queensberry prints separately. The prints will only take a few days to arrive depending on whether you want us to colour correct or not … or of course you could print your own. Either way, you'll be able to schedule a sales consultation/photo To View More >>

For a while now we've been asking people to complete a questionnaire when they register on our site. It's optional, and not everybody does, but still the results are so striking I thought I might share some of the charts. It seems that the people checking us out are a little different to the typical "professional" … and that many people don't realise there's plenty to Queensberry beyond books and albums. 1. In the age of Mr Google we're proud that most people say they found us — not through search, or advertising — but through good To View More >>
